Göztepe are the pride of İzmir, Turkey’s third city, founded in 1925 in the seaside district of the same name. In the late 1960s they were a force in Turkish football — Turkish Cup winners in 1969 and 1970 and semi-finalists in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1969 — before decades of decline took them as far as the amateur leagues.
They climbed back to the Süper Lig in 2017 and again in 2024, and play at the modern Gürsel Aksel Stadium. Yellow and red; known as Göz-Göz.
