Kocaelispor are the club of İzmit, the industrial city on the Gulf of İzmit east of Istanbul. Founded in 1966, they won the Turkish Cup twice, in 1997 and 2002, and played in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, before financial collapse sent them down to the amateur leagues in the 2010s.
A long climb back brought them to the Süper Lig in 2025 as 1. Lig champions, after 16 years away. They play at the Kocaeli Stadium. Green and black.
