Çaykur Rizespor are the club of Rize, the tea-growing province on the eastern Black Sea coast, and carry the name of the state tea company that sponsors them. Founded in 1953, they have had several spells in the Süper Lig since first reaching it in 1979 and are known for green-and-blue colours that echo the hillside tea plantations.
