The Coppa Italia is Italy’s national cup, first contested in 1922 and played every season since 1935–36. Its format is seeded: Serie C and lower-division clubs begin in the summer, Serie B sides and the smaller Serie A clubs enter in the first rounds proper, and the eight best-placed Serie A teams of the previous season join at the round of 16 in the winter.
Every round is a single match decided on the night, except the semi-finals, which are played over two legs in spring. The final has been staged at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome since 2008 and is usually played in May. The winner qualifies for the Europa League and meets the Serie A champion in the Supercoppa Italiana.
Juventus hold the record with 15 wins; Inter, Roma, Lazio, Fiorentina, Napoli and Milan have all lifted it several times. Golalarm follows each Coppa Italia tie with live scores and, where available, lineups, events and statistics.
