The UEFA Nations League replaced most international friendlies in Europe when it launched in 2018. All 55 UEFA members are split into four leagues — A, B, C and D — by ranking, and within each league into groups of four (or three in League D). Group matches are played in the September, October and November windows of even years, with promotion and relegation between the leagues.
Since 2024–25, League A’s group winners and runners-up meet in two-legged quarter-finals in March, and the four winners play the Nations League Finals in June: two semi-finals, a third-place match and a final over four days in one host country.
Portugal won the first edition in 2019 and the 2025 edition; France took the title in 2021 and Spain in 2023. The Nations League also feeds the European qualifying play-offs for the World Cup and the Euros. Golalarm covers every match with live scores, lineups and statistics, and shows the group tables per league.
