The Copa América is the oldest continental championship in football, first played in 1916, and the championship of CONMEBOL’s ten South American nations. Guest teams from CONCACAF are regularly invited to make up the numbers: the 2024 edition, hosted by the United States, had 16 teams in four groups.

The format is a group stage followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final, played over about four weeks in June and July. Argentina are the record winners, with their 2021 and 2024 titles taking them past Uruguay; Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Colombia and Bolivia have also lifted the trophy.

The tournament is not held on a fixed cycle — recent editions were played in 2019, 2021 and 2024 — so its matches appear on Golalarm whenever an edition is being played, with live scores, lineups and statistics for every game.
